YOU WON’T REGRET LEARNING THIS DUA

YOU WON’T REGRET LEARNING THIS DUA

Message from Editor NS:

Asalamu alaykum everyone 🙂

I heard of this mighty dua and never gave it the attention it deserved, under the pretence that it was long and hard to memorise.

But when one of my Ustadh’s compelled us to learn it for an upcoming exam, me and my classmates were obliged to commit.

So I tried to fix my intentions, examined the texts and repeated the audios in an attempt to ingrain it in my brain. I took some time to read through the dua in Arabic and then the English meaning. And let me tell you, I was deeply humbled.

Shame on me for being lazy.

In fact, there was a few weeks to go for the exam, but the Ustadh had told us to memorise it months prior.

I regret not learning it sooner. Not because of the exam. But, because I had missed out on a great deal of good. May Allah forgive me.

This dua is literally an appeal to Allah… asking Our Lord, Our Loving Creator, to grant us a life of goodness, death when it’s right, fear and awareness of Him, contentment, truthfulness, great bounties, and of the greatest bounties is to be honoured to see His Face in the afterlife. We plead Allah to allow us to meet Him, and look forward to the meeting, and to be protected from harm, to be adorned with true faith, and be guided aright.

I eventually learnt the dua. Alhamdulillah. And I was examined. I still don’t know the results yet. But you know what? That’s not what concerns me now, because I gained a treasure… I read this dua during Ramadan and I came across it again on a social media post recently. It’s going to be everywhere inshaAllah.

Now after I’ve shared this story with you, how can I not continue to read this dua?

And how can you all not learn it?

Here’s a head start. (Jazakallah khair, courtesy NAP)
